🌏 RSVP For My Next Community Town Hall

Politics shouldn't be about the next election - it should be about the next generation.

As many of you know, I was a doctor before I was elected your local representative.

While I’ve now left the Royal Children’s Hospital and clinical practice, my desire to care for the next generation hasn’t left me. Nothing drives me more.

Ensuring our children and grandchildren can enjoy life like we have was one of the reasons why I put my hand up to be your community Independent for Kooyong.

Politics shouldn’t be about the next election — it should be about the next generation.

With Labor just not doing enough to address climate change, and the Liberal Party still not fully on board with renewable energy — in 2024 — Independents like myself are playing a key role in holding the Government to account on one of the most important issues of our generation.

That’s why I’m inviting you to a special community Town Hall focused on an exciting idea that could help my generation leave the world a better place for future generations.

At the age of 16, Anjali Sharma brought an action against the Government in 2021 — Sharma v Minister For The Environment — in which she argued that the Minister had a duty to protect young people from the devastating impacts of climate change.

Anjali is now working hard to see a climate change duty of care legislated by the Federal Government. It’s an interesting idea — one that I’d love to hear your thoughts on at the Town Hall.

We’ll be joined by Independent Zoe Daniel, the Member for Goldstein.

Doing politics differently is about listening to you, being transparent about what I’m doing, and letting you hold me to account.

As an Independent, my top priority is getting out in the community, listening to you, and acting on your concerns. Since the election, my team and I have knocked on 21,500 doors, held 26 pop-up offices, and hosted 12 community forums.

This will be our fourth Town Hall, with more to come in 2024.

As always, if you would like any assistance with government services, including Centrelink matters, visas, and NDIS issues, my hardworking team and I are here to help. Please do write to use at [email protected], or call on 03 9326 2900.

All the best,
