It’s the day of the Electrify Boroondara Expo — our community’s first ever electrification expo.
Electrification is about saving money while saving the planet at the same time.
Australian sunshine is the cheapest form of energy in the world, and finding ways to switch from gas and petrol to electricity will cut your power bills by thousands of dollars.
The Electrify Boroondara team has gone above and beyond to put together a free expo where you can find out everything you need to know about electrifying your home and purchasing an electric vehicle.
There will be over 50 stalls featuring family activities, 1-on-1 chats with solar, battery and induction cooktop experts, an electric vehicle showcase (including an electric racing car), and over $10,000 in prizes to be won.
After launching the day at 10:00am, I’ll be on one of the eight panels — catch me at 1:45pm for a discussion about the health benefits of electrification. Other panels feature some of the country’s leading electrification thinkers, including Rewiring Australia’s Saul Griffith and the CEO of the Smart Energy Council, John Grimes.
It couldn’t come at a better time. Amid a cost of living crisis, the expo is a great opportunity to learn about how electrification can help the family budget. It’s not just electric vehicles and solar panels — at the expo you’ll also find experts to chat to about improving home energy efficiency, electric hot water, e-bikes, and financing options.
