Jacqui Lambie is my next Town Hall guest

Join me next Sunday for a special Town Hall with Senator Jacqui Lambie, where we'll discuss the power of the crossbench before answering your questions.

Spots are filling fast for my next Town Hall with special guest Senator Jacqui Lambie – on from 2:30-4:00pm on Sunday 11 August at Hawthorn Arts Centre.

A special Town Hall with Senator Jacqui Lambie

In recent years crossbenchers like Senator Lambie have achieved meaningful change on the rising cost of living, housing, and climate change. Working collaboratively across Parliament, those on the crossbench can break through the major party deadlock on the most important challenges of our time.

Senator Lambie has used her vote in the Senate to hold the government of the day to account, improve legislation, and give people who feel left behind by the major parties a voice.

Click here to RSVP for the Town Hall, which promises to be a fascinating conversation about how crossbenchers can work collaboratively and sensibly to improve the country – something that is so rare in politics these days.

For those who can't make it in person – the event will also be livestreamed here.

Monique's Town Hall with Senator David Pocock

Along with my Pop-Up Offices and community forums, these Town Halls are a key part of my efforts to listen to our community.

I listen so I can vote in line with our community's values and work to achieve the best possible results for the community.

The most recent example of this was how we successfully pushed the government to wipe $3 billion in student debt for more than 3 million Australians.

After working with constituents who had spoken to me about their rising HECS debts, I started a petition that became one of the largest petitions in Australian political history with over 288,000 signatures.

It worked. After months of pressure, the government finally acted. That's how Independents get results – by listening and then acting.

Join us on Sunday to hear more about how the crossbench holds the government to account and delivers for their communities.
